A gift at this amount can provide a week’s worth of diapers for one child, which allows a family to focus on other basic needs.
A gift of this amount can provide age-appropriate activity supplies for the school age children in the Growing Tree Children’s Center summer program. Children at this age need quality programming throughout the summer to help them stay on track academically.
A gift of this amount can subsidize a week of quality childcare for a child in the Growing Tree Children’s Center. Some families are not able to private pay and don’t qualify for WI Shares, but still need quality childcare so that their children can be cared for while they work.
A gift of this amount can sponsor our Christmas Holiday event-- a holiday meal, gifts, and experience for families living at UMCS. This event, and events like this, ensures that families have a positive experience of community here and and takes off the extra pressure that often comes at holiday time so that families can focus on other goals.
A gift at this amount can provide 3-4 days of emergency food through the Family Resource center for a family of four.
A gift of this amount can provide a Home Starter Kit for a family moving into an affordable housing in one of our 72 apartments or townhomes. Many families come to UMCS without the resources to furnish their new home. For some families, this is their first experience of safe, affordable housing.
A gift of this amount can help complete the required updates needed between tenants. Our goal at UMCS is to provide safe, affordable housing, and making sure that apartments are at appropriate standards when a new family moves in ensures that a family has a great start in their new home so that they can focus on their other basic needs.
